Itchen Valley Training Society (I.V.T.S.) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to provide training for pet dog owners. Our objective is for pet dog owners to have a pet that is well behaved and a delight to live with.
Background:
Itchen Valley Training Society was founded more than forty years ago – and we are still relevant and going strong.
We are registered with The Kennel Club (www.thekennelclub.org.uk). We aim to provide you with training that will allow you to attain the Bronze Award, Silver Award and the Gold Award associated with the Kennel Club's "Good Citizen Dog Scheme".
All club personnel are volunteers and all owners become club members in return for a small annual subscription and a small payment for each training session attended.
We train on Monday evenings with Session 1 for Puppies, Starters and Beginners; Session 2 is for Beginners and Improvers; Session 3 is for Improvers and Advanced training. Training sessions take place at Jubilee Hall, Kings Worthy, Winchester SO23 7QA.
All income the club takes pays for the direct running costs with the excess donated to dog-related charities annually. We have raised many thousands of pounds over the years with several local dog charities benefitting from the generosity of our members. A full list of the charities we support is available upon request (to Sophie Neyroud).
